Sometimes reverting back to an old driver is a good thing but don't overlook the possibility of not haven the driver there at all. To fix: Run MsConfig Under the Services tab uncheck the service called "##Id_String1.6844[… and then a bunch of numbers]" by Apple Reboot system, and voila. DHCP disabled only show in my computer's ipconfig/all for the LAN. At least now I know what the problem is and now I can start making progress fixing it. Installing Npcap is the only step necessary to reproduce. He's doing this at first, and then he's planning to try out Windows 7 Professional next and then decide which to Buy to replace his original OS.
