I work on computers on a regular basis. As mentioned, I had to stop/disable the Windows Update service for each KB installation to prevent them from hanging. I had used the factory reset disks that came with the laptop to reset it to OEM state and then found that it would not update any better than the clobbered I was amazed, after my final reboot, that at the end..Windows Update started working and updated everything! this contact form
