It was doing the Not Responding thing despite all the above, Including re-loading a new fresh OS on a New (and TESTED) Hard Drive. After rebooting, Windows will "found new hardware", and reinstall HDD. Perhaps idle timeout, or a problem with the drive itself. Step 6: You can also fix registry errors to make Windows 7 work again.
