To my knowledge windows 7 should not require any drivers for a blank sata HDD.I will be actively searching for solutions while I wait for responses.Thank you. Plus way back in SCSI days could push some drives into non-operational states.I've been able to trip up the Windows installer by partitioning and formatting a drive prior to install so Its better to incorporate the HD SATA drivers to the XP Installation CD.
