Switch everything off, unplug the PSU, check that the cables coming out of it are not bare. Tomorrow I am going to reseat the MB as my first step in trying to fix this issue. This should not be a problem if you are only using the I/O Panel. I've got alot on my plate at the moment so I dont know when I'll be able to do this but I'll inform with the results when I'm done.
Also when I was re seating the MB I noticed that the shilding on the IO back plate was bare on the right side next to the audio out puts. i only hvae 1 80mm front fan, 1 80mm rear fan. Its 100% reproducible by gently lifting one side of the case about 1cm high then dropping it on to the carpet. but suggest that you find a way to heat whilst levering gently so that you'll understand when the glue starts to melt ..

When you mounted the mobo inside the case did you use Plastic spacers or metal ones under the mobo? Note-do not overwet the finger ;) P.S. Sounds like something is loose to me. Tell them that you believe repair should be fair, affordable, and accessible.

He, however, has his comp connected to a grounded power-thingy which I dont. Some power strips also have indicators for this.In any case,, lockup from a static spark to the case is not normal and is something you need to diagnose and fix. Now I've heard that the most "scary", or worrisome, thing is taking out the mobo itself because of the static and all. I have performed a fresh install of windows on each of my hard drives and powered up and booted only one at a time, with the other disconnected.

Made some more metal things. My "solution" was to put everything back in and put the panel on before booting... I've built many computers but this is the first time I've bought "OC" parts. If there is still a problem then I would unplug all the "USB Ports" from the motherboard.

Personally, I'd disassemble the PC, remount the MB and be sure that there isn't an unused standoff under the board, or missing one for the MB.

The power cords are tucked in a free hard drive bay and taped to the case wall.
