Before i used to only get it when i was playing a game like wow when i had 2 sticks of ram in and i could go days without crashing. I'm going to try with a second 2GB DDR2 SODIMM and see if the BIOS and a 64-bit LiveCD OS sees 4096MBs. The problem here is that you are actually overclocking the memory. Moreover, since 64-bit code is bigger, what memory it does see, it won't use as efficiently. Apparently I wasn’t the only person facing this problem. svetol: indeed such a talented writer here...

I have run linux x86 on here, which uses the full 4, and have an os x leopard install which also detects and uses all 4gb. Instead of the BSoD, it would just hang up during the install. No way around.

My RAM is now 3GB and the rest of the memory that is not in use is shown as being available. You will find a "DRAM Over 4gb Remapping" option. instead of getting 3.55 GB i know have 2558 MB thanks to DEP and PAE enabling and stuff.
internet is faster so is restart and boot up by 5 times. There's quite a sizable discussion on the internet about it.
