BSoD When Using More Than 3GB RAM During Install

June 6, 2011 at 2:38 am # adding the 2x1gb to have 6gb ended worked. After you have the computer running properly, use a program such as CPU-Z to get a better look at what the memory reports in SPD. My computer is: Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.5 Intel D975XBX2 4x1GB Kingston DDR2 800   All running fine, btw i got a problem in my instalation... Should I see something else in the Task Manager ? http://gagc.net/bsod-when/bsod-when-playing-team-fortress-2-i-get-3-type-of-bsod-please-help-ty.php

This was during the install, so trying to get into Safe Mode wouldn't work as the install was not complete. Four Gigabytes is a lot of RAM for a workstation or gaming machine, but the industry has pretty much forced us into using this much (especially if you’re a heavy user if you have more than 8gb ram, DONT GET 32 BIT. Exchanged e-mails with ASUS tech support, and they told me the obvious (make sure memory is well seated, etc.), but also said to erase the CMOS and set the BIOS timing

I've been at this for over four days now. My pc wont pick up my usb device after i loaded windows 7. Vista runs slower with PAE because of the new page-translation system being used. Caught their MAC addresses Should I be concerned that swap is being used on a host with nearly 40GB of free memory?

  1. of processors won't make windows boot faster.
  2. Another problem I had was installing windows 7...
  3. Aji December 1, 2009 at 8:17 pm # i have same problem.

Before i used to only get it when i was playing a game like wow when i had 2 sticks of ram in and i could go days without crashing. I'm going to try with a second 2GB DDR2 SODIMM and see if the BIOS and a 64-bit LiveCD OS sees 4096MBs. My new windows 7 64 bit pc (luv that i7 920 intel cpu) came installed with both ie8-64 bit and ie8-32 bit (nothing more need be said regarding the absurdity of Thanks for the help.

The problem here is that you are actually overclocking the memory. Moreover, since 64-bit code is bigger, what memory it does see, it won't use as efficiently. Apparently I wasn’t the only person facing this problem. svetol: indeed such a talented writer here...

The memory is reported at the capped limit, rather then the actual available. Yowan March 12, 2011 at 4:04 pm # The advance boot options are for Debugging purposes only. By the way, my old MSI RX1550 graphics card works fine with Win 7 since I took the extra RAM out. The BIOS complained about the RAM and refused to start up.

orthogonality of positive (semi-)definite matrices How would an advanced civilization have constant communication between planets? I have run linux x86 on here, which uses the full 4, and have an os x leopard install which also detects and uses all 4gb. Instead of the BSoD, it would just hang up during the install. No way around.

I use Vista 32 bit OS. We can cross out the possibility of an old os, since it was running 4gb with win vista at a comparable very fast speed than the win 7. Says I'm not an administrator, but I am! his comment is here What Does Optimize in Windows 8 Really Do?

My RAM is now 3GB and the rest of the memory that is not in use is shown as being available. You will find a "DRAM Over 4gb Remapping" option. instead of getting 3.55 GB i know have 2558 MB thanks to DEP and PAE enabling and stuff.

Got more RAM (4 identical 2GB modules) for Win 7 64bit.

internet is faster so is restart and boot up by 5 times. There's quite a sizable discussion on the internet about it. If you need more than 4gb of ram just go buy a 64bit OS Reply joseph tran June 20, 2011 at 11:58 pm Just wanted to thank you this worked os To force this new addressing method, you have to tell Vista to boot using this new parameter.
